Megan Higgo
Registered Psychologist
Megan is a registered psychologist with AHPRA, holding a Master of Professional Psychology Practice, Master of Professional Psychology, and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). She offers comprehensive psychological services to clients across the lifespan, with a special focus on adolescents and young adults.
In her practice, Megan strives to create a warm, non-judgemental, and empathic environment where clients feel validated and supported. She believes that compassion and respect are fundamental to building a trusting and genuine therapeutic relationship. Her approach is neuro-affirming, attachment-informed, and strengths-based, ensuring that each client's unique needs are met with tailored care.
Megan employs a client-centred and collaborative therapeutic approach, drawing on principles from various modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is dedicated to adapting her therapeutic techniques to align with each client's preferences and therapeutic style.
With extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in educational and private practice settings, Megan is particularly passionate about helping clients with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, trauma, and interpersonal and social challenges. She also conducts cognitive, learning, and behavioural assessments and works closely with schools to support children with diverse learning needs, aiming to optimise their educational outcomes.
