Christopher Goodall

Chris has worked in a range of family and welfare settings in Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and London. He has over 30 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of presenting needs. He believes that relationship is vital to the process of change and growth, and emphasise the establishment and maintenance of safety in the counselling environment.
Chris is trained in a range of counselling and psychological approaches including CBT, crisis intervention/counselling and has completed a Certificate in Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy which pioneered the use of Mindfulness in the psychotherapy process (for more information visit www.hakomi.com.au and www.hakomiinstitute.com). He has also completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which has a focus on developmental and other trauma (for more information visit https://www.sensorimotorpsychotherapy.org/)
His areas of interest include assisting people experiencing heightened emotional states such as sadness or anger that may arise from trauma and other significant life events and transitions. Chris believes that what has happened in our past is important, and equally as important is how we have organised our character and personality around these experiences. It is as important to listen to the story teller as much as it is to the story.
